Words with five vowels are those that contain all five letters: A, E, I, O, U, and Y the majority of words with all five vowels are too long to be useful in Words With Friends and Scrabble. The letter “w” is also sometimes counted as a vowel, as in the words “crow” and “bowl.” For example, the word “cry” has one vowel and two consonants, while the word “coy” has one vowel and one consonant. The letter “y” can sometimes be a vowel and sometimes a consonant, depending on its position in a word. These are the letters a, e, i, o, u, y, w, and h. There are eight vowel letters in the standard English alphabet.
